Training

What is included in the FBT program?

FBT Certification

To be certified to deliver FBT, providers must complete the 3.25-hour training course and pass the final test. After passing the final test, providers will be required to demonstrate competency through simulated treatment scenarios, which may be done via video conference or phone. IBT experts will evaluate provider performance and provide feedback.

FBT Staffing

To successfully run an FBT program at your site, we recommend a 2-person team of providers in association with a leadership support person to supervise treatment delivery and care coordination with the PCP. The leadership support person can be a psychologist, physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner.

  • FBT providers should be behavioral health professionals or registered dieticians. Examples of behavioral health professionals: licensed clinical social worker, professional counselor, psychologist, marital and family therapist.
